candelabra

2025
The candelabra project was initially undertaken as a distraction from my honours project, in the break between parts one and two. Part one was almost entirely research, with a touch of actual "design" sprinkled in towards the end. i missed designing and working on my own rick projects. So this 3D printed concept was developed to flex that muscle before it went into atrophy.

I challenged myself to produce the final version without any support structures from the printer, hence the teardrop shape in the buttresses. the insitu photobook is paired with renders visualising the same models in impossible materialities, such as glass and embossed steel with extruded raised detailing.
