This section presents an interactive A6 booklet created as an accompanying piece to my 2025 RMIT Industrial Design Honours thesis. Grounded in the philosophy that colour is not mere decoration or aesthetic accident, but one of the oldest languages our species speaks, this publication invites participants to re-examine their deeply personal relationships with the chromatic world. It shifts the focus away from digital hex codes and paint swatches, exploring instead how colour lives within the body, memory, and subconscious.
Structured around nine distinct hues, the rainbow spectrum as defined by Isac Newton alongside black and white, the booklet serves as a framework for emotional excavation. Each section presents an immersive scenario, a task, and a prompt designed to be engaged alone, in pairs, or within a group. Through these reflective exercises, participants are invited to slow down, confront the charged spaces between what we see and what we feel, and uncover their innermost feelings. Ultimately, this booklet acts as a sensory and psychological companion to the physical collection, proving that to understand colour is to understand our own human condition.
