The m1k is the second member of the 0rz0 family, a pair of wall mounted sconces, again built from reclaimed aluminium waste left over from RMIT Brunswick's roof renovation, this time housing blue LED tubes. Made from start to finish in two days, the m1k benefited from everything learned building the first light, a faster, more focused process. It is, honestly, the favourite of the two. After sharing it on instagram, a second was immediately commissioned.
The light was named after the buyer, Mikhail, hence m1k, with the one being a reference to the iterative nature of the range. This project was completed for an advanced prototyping class at RMIT University, industrial design bachelor. Please find the full folio for the entire 0rz0 family embedded at the bottom of this page.
